§ 98-163. Inmates working for city or housing authority.

(a)

The chief of corrections may deliver to the various departments of the city and the housing authority municipal inmates incarcerated in detention facilities for the purpose of work useful to the city or the housing authority, except those inmates needed for the maintenance, construction, improvement or operation of detention facilities.

(b)

The authority to decide all questions as to the assignment of inmates is vested in the chief.
