Article II. ALARM SYSTEMS |
§ 70-26. Purpose/applicability.
(a)
The purpose of this article is to encourage alarm users and alarm companies to properly use and maintain alarm systems and to reduce or eliminate false alarms, which unduly divert emergency services from responding to actual criminal activity and other emergencies. This article governs systems intended to summon emergency response, requires registration, and provides for civil penalties for violations.
(b)
The provisions of this article shall not apply to any governmental agency, board, authority or entity.
(c)
The provisions of this article shall not apply to alarm systems installed, operated or maintained pursuant to chapter 78 of the City of Atlanta Code of Ordinances.
