§ 2-399. Powers and duties of city attorney and assistants.

  • The city attorney, assistant or associate city attorney shall:

    (1)

    When required by the mayor, any department head, the president or any member of the council, give an opinion in writing on any question of law connected with the interest of the city or the duties of any of the departments;

    (2)

    Attend all meetings of the council and meetings of the committees of the council, when requested to do so by the mayor, a department head or a member of such committee;

    (3)

    Superintend, administer and perform all claims work arising under O.C.G.A. tit. 34, ch. 9 (O.C.G.A. § 34-9-1 et seq.), the workers' compensation act of the state; and

    (4)

    Perform any other services as are consistent with the usual and customary duties of municipal corporation counsel.
