§ 2-177. Delegation of authority to execute documents to president or president pro tempore of council.
(a)
Pursuant to section 6-401 of the Charter, the mayor, when it is desirable because of the absence, unavailability, disability, illness or other reason, may authorize execution of any document, contract or paper on behalf of the city by the president of the council or in the president's absence the president pro tempore of the council. The mayor shall have the right and authority to designate the president pro tempore of the council to execute documents on behalf of the city.
(b)
Such delegation shall be in writing and signed by the mayor and shall by such writing describe the particular document, contract or other paper, either specifically or by general classification, as to which the delegation of the right to sign shall exist. The delegation may be cancelled by the mayor at any time in writing.
