§ 114-133. Overtime.

  • (a)

    The head of the finance department shall pay employees for overtime work in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other applicable rules and regulation.

    (b)

    Employees within each department who normally perform the same type of work shall receive equal opportunity for overtime work.

    (c)

    The chief financial officer shall provide a report of all overtime paid on a monthly basis to the finance/executive committee. The report shall include the number of overtime hours worked and amount of overtime paid by every city department for each month during the current fiscal year and for the same month in the two prior fiscal years. In addition, the report shall list any employee receiving more than 40 hours per month in overtime from the departments of aviation, corrections, fire rescue, parks, police, public works, and watershed management. A final report of all overtime paid during the current fiscal year shall be provided as part of the department of finance's fiscal condition of the city presentation to begin the annual departmental budget briefings.
