Chapter 110. PARKS AND RECREATION |
Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 110-1. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Commissioner means the Commissioner of parks, recreation and cultural affairs.
Department means the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Linear park means a single land segment or series of adjoining land segments, where the total depth of the linear park is at least 20 feet and the total length is at least 1/8 mile, and where the distance between each segment is no greater than 100 feet. All of the adjoining land segments shall be dedicated as city park. Each segment must meet one of the following descriptions:
(1)
An area that is utilized primarily for park and/or recreation purposes;
(2)
An area of land, walkway or trail adjacent to a public right-of-way as defined in section 138-1 of this Code; or
(3)
An area of land, walkway or trail adjacent to a street as defined in section 138-1 of this Code, but excluding any public right-of-way.
Vehicle means every device in, upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, except devices moved by human power.
